LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fatal crash closed a busy southern Indiana highway on Friday.Â
According to the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, the crash involving a semi-truck and a Honda SUV happened just before 11 a.m. on U.S. 150 near Greenville, Indiana.
The the driver of the SUV died on the scene. The Sheriff's department identified the driver as Demar A. Nelson, 52, of New Albany.Â
U.S. 150 was closed for hours between Pekin Road and Heritage Way for the investigation and cleanup. Traffic was being detoured on to secondary roads by officers. The highway reopened on Friday afternoon.Â
Highlander Fire Protection District spokesman Ryan Houchin said another crash on U.S. 150, may be related. A semi-truck ran off the road and into trees near Schuler Road. No one was hurt.
Indiana State Police helped with the investigation.Â
