LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Â A former Madison, Indiana, corrections officer is facing prison time after authorities say he had sexual intercourse with an inmate.
On Wednesday, police arrested Robert Jones and charged him with both sexual misconduct and official misconduct.
Jones was an officer at the Madison Correctional Facility. Prison officials say he was a crew leader responsible for transporting and supervising inmates on work details outside of the prison.
In June, prison officials confronted Jones about an anonymous tip that he had engaged in sexual contact with a female inmate. Instead of answering questions, officials say he resigned.
On Wednesday, he was handcuffed and booked into jail. He later posted a $2,000 cash bond and was released.
