LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The son of former Louisville Metro Police Chief Robert White is facing new misdemeanor charges.
Late Saturday night, police say 20-year-old Robert C. White was driving near the corner of Bardstown Road and Tyler Pkwy. when an officer stopped him. According to an arrest report, the temporary tag on his vehicle was not legible. When the officer asked for proof of insurance, White allegedly said he had just purchased the car and didn't have any.
Police say White's wife was in the car with him. White's mere presence with her violated a emergency protective order, according to police.
It's not the first time White has been in trouble.
In October, White was arrested after police say he assaulted his wife as they were driving. According to an arrest report, White's wife became so distraught that she jumped from the moving vehicle and sustained significant injuries. Police say White later went to his father's home (his father wasn't there at the time), drank alcohol and threatened to kill himself.
Police charged him with assault, unlawful imprisonment, terroristic threats, and wanton endangerment.
Late last year, Louisville Metro Police Chief Robert White (Robert C. White's father) left his position with the LMPD to take a job as chief of police in Denver, Colo.
