LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Givaudan has hired a disaster response team to help those impacted by the deadly plant explosion in Louisville's Clifton neighborhood.

The company has partnered with Gilbane Reconstruction Services LLC for the Community Repair Program.

In the coming weeks, Givaudan said the response team will connect with homeowners to share more about the program, provide assessments of properties to identify any repair work needed, conduct home repairs and give homeowners a final report.

The company said the response team has worked on several incidents, including Super Storm Sandy.

Homeowners who were impacted by the Nov. 12 blast now have three options to have repairs done: homeowners insurance, hiring their own contractors, or using the Community Repair Program.

The response team will be on hand at the next Givaudan outreach community meeting next Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 p.m., at the United Crescent Hill Ministries on State Street.

Earlier this week, federal investigators released an update on their investigation into the explosion.

According to the U.S. Chemical Safety Board's latest report, problems at the plant started around 2 p.m. the day of the explosion when a cooking vessel started to over-pressurize.

The explosion happened less than an hour later.

Two people were killed in the explosion and 11 others were injured. In the aftermath, neighbors have expressed frustration over the lack of answers from the company as lawsuits have mounted.
