LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville brewery in the Highlands will host a Hurricane Helene relief fundraiser benefitting its headquarters located in North Carolina.

Hi-Wire Brewing is located on Baxter Avenue in the Highlands, but is headquartered in Asheville, and has three facilities, including tap rooms and production.

Hi-Wire Louisville General Manager Kyle Colvin said flood waters reached the second floor of its headquarters, and around 70 employees have been impacted.

Hi-Wire Brewing is partnering with the Ancient Order of Hibernians and will host an all day fundraiser Friday, Oct. 11. Together, they will collect water, non-perishables, blankets, coats, hats, gloves and socks for those in western North Carolina impacted by floods.

Hi-Wire also has started a fund to benefit its employees in Asheville that have been impacted.

"All weekend every tap room that is operating, we have many locations... Everybody is doing a fundraiser this weekend to help our staff to payroll them and helping us get back on our feet, and raising money also to give to the city of Asheville," Colvin said.

According to its website, Hi-Wire said it lost 80% of its finished beer, all of its packaging inventory, and production and distribution has been impacted significantly.

Colvin said at this time, Louisville's location does not have a product shortage, but it is a future concern.

"We typically make beer every day and right now we won't be able to make beer likely for another month, month and a half and that's being hopeful," Colvin said. "At some point we could possibly not have as much beer as we normally would, but we're working hard to keep us having product here."
