House fire on Mills Lane - 4.3.25

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — No one was hurt after a house fire in New Albany Thursday afternoon.

Officials said the fire was reported around 3:40 p.m. in the 600 block of Mills Lane.

When crews arrived on scene, they found the roof on fire, according to Timothy Franklin with New Albany Township Fire.

Twelve firefighters were on scene and quickly put the fire out. Franklin said water hydrants in the area are scarce, so crews had to use water tankers.

Franklin said the home was without power at the time due to the recent storms that moved through the area Wednesday night, and a generator was being used at the home. He said he believes the generator caused the fire.
