LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A person is dead after a crash involving a Louisville police officer Wednesday night.
LMPD said police were called to help EMS around 9 p.m. on Interstate 65.
While on the way, police said a car turned in front of an officer on Fern Valley Road in the Newburg area.
Police were called to help EMS on I-65 around 9 tonight. While on the way, a car turned in front of an officer on Fern Valley Road. The officer hit the car. Officer was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other car died. @WDRBNews

Police said the officer hit the car. The officer was taken to a local hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, but their condition was not immediately available.
The driver of the other car was identified Thursday morning by the Jefferson County Coroner as 61-year-old Charles Briscoe.
Briscoe died at the scene of the crash from blunt force injuries.
