LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Traffic flow is returning to normal after a crash Saturday afternoon caused vehicles to fall off a semi-trailer on the Kennedy Bridge.

The crash, which happened around 12:45 p.m., caused major traffic problems headed into Louisville.

Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said a car hauler overturned on Interstate 65 south just off the Kennedy Bridge. Vehicles that were on the trailer fell off, blocking traffic.

Trimarc images at the time of the crash showed the semi across all lanes of I-65 south near the ramp to Interstate 64 west. There were at least two vehicles overturned on the interstate.

Traffic was being diverted on to Interstate 64. Maps showed southbound traffic backed up into Jeffersonville, Indiana, on I-65 south.

LMPD said there were no injuries.

The crash caused issues on a major highway into Louisville, as the city hosts the Kentucky Derby.

Emergency responders, including at least two fire engines, were on the scene.

The scene was cleared around 6 p.m.
