LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With guns drawn, police had to use a ladder to get three burglary suspects out of a business off Dixie Highway.
"I got here at about 7:45 and they had it surrounded," said Sherrie Miller, witness. "It was three of 'em, and they were young guys."
Friday morning, Louisville Metro Police were called to the Farm Boy Food Mart at 18th and Oak Streets. Officers believe the three broke into a daycare and the food mart, but when confronted, they holed up in an attic and wouldn't come out.
During the incident, police K-9 Bosco went into the attic and "engaged" one of the suspects, according to police. The other two suspects surrendered.
During the scuffle, police say Bosco fell 15 feet and became trapped between and industrial fridge and an exterior wall. Louisville Fire & EMS had to cut a hole in the wall to free the dog.

Firefighters also brought the ladder used to get to the suspects. The suspects eventually came out of the building and had to descend the ladder, as police pointed guns at them.
All three were handcuffed and placed on the ground.
"All three have been arrested, at this time we are interviewing them now and charges are pending against them," said Dwight Mitchell, LMPD Spokesperson.
A large hole was left in the side of the business, and many neighborhood residents could be seen watching the unusual scene.
The daycare is scheduled to open for business next month, so no children were inside.
