LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Animals made of Legos are taking over the Louisville Zoo.

The Nature Connects exhibit features 23 sculptures made from nearly half a million Lego bricks. They were created by children's author and Lego certified builder Sean Kenney.

The sculptures range in size from 12 inches to nearly 7 feet tall.

Several sculptures including a life-size peacock and a family of deer are making their world premiere at the zoo.

"We are really, really emphasizing that botanical gardening connection with the animals -- all of the things that are really the core of our mission, bettering the bond between people and the planet.

The Zoo is also planning special events and contests around the Lego theme

.

The exhibit is free with Zoo admission and runs through July 1.
