LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Indiana is taking steps to prepare for the future of nuclear energy development.
Gov. Mike Braun’s office announced a new program aimed at helping communities prepare to become potential sites for nuclear energy projects, including small modular reactors and advanced nuclear facilities.
The program will help counties and regions navigate the process of becoming development-ready by addressing key challenges such as regulatory requirements, workforce needs and infrastructure planning.
State officials say communities across Indiana are eligible to apply as the state looks to expand its role in the growing nuclear energy industry.
