LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Ironman is returning to Louisville next year.
The triathlon will back in Louisville on Aug. 18, 2024. Ironman is working with Louisville Sports Commission and other partners to host the race.
It includes a 1-mile swim in the Ohio River, a 56-mile bike course and a 13-mile run. The course will spread across the southern Indiana, Louisville's waterfront and Oldham County.
Next summer is expected to bring athletes from around the world for this bucket list competition.
"Not only does this create great venues for our athletes but it also creates a great place for athletes to bring their families and create a longer experience to vacation and spend time and experience all that Louisville has to offer," said Eric Atnip, Ironman Group Region Director.
Those interested must register on or before Jan. 7 to take advantage of some early entry benefits. To learn more about Ironman Louisville, click here.
