LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A middle school teacher accused of seeking sex with a minor pleaded not guilty in arraignment court Friday morning.
Brandon Dietz, 37, an Olmsted Academy North teacher and Louisville Glory youth softball coach, was arrested Wednesday while traveling to have sex with a minor, Attorney General Andy Beshear's office announced Thursday. But the minor he met online was an undercover detective.
During a conversation Tuesday, Dietz asked about the minor's sexual history, requested sexual images and wanted to meet for sex acts, according to his citation.
Police said he had several condoms in his car and admitted he was trying to meet a minor for sex.
In court Friday, a judge gave him the option of being released on home incarceration or posting a cash bond. He is not allowed to have electronic devices.
JCPS said Thursday the district is working with law enforcement officials on the matter, and will review the case once it has been fully investigated and "take any additional steps as necessary," moving forward.
Dietz is due back in court next month.
