JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville's Home of Champions Wall will soon be a little more crowded.
Three more honorees will be added to the wall that showcases high-profile Jeffersonville natives during a special ceremony at Big Four Station Park at 4 p.m. Oct. 4, according to a news release.
During Saturday's ceremony, which Mayor Mike Moore is expected to attend, Jeffersonville Parks officials will celebrate the achievements of the 2025 Jeffersonville High School boys basketball team for winning the state championship, along with Coach Sherron Wilkerson and Dr. Gordon Gutmann.
The Big Four Station Park is located at 219 W. Market St., near the walking bridge, in downtown Jeffersonville.
2025 State Champions
The 2025 Jeffersonville High School boys' basketball team made history in March when it became the second boys' team in the school's history to win a state basketball championship. The team was led by third-year head coach Sherron Wilkerson -- a standout player on the team that won the championship in 1993.
The two championships earned Wilkerson the honor of being just the sixth person in state history to win a state title as both a player and a coach at his alma mater.

Wilkerson is the only person in Indiana history to win a high school state basketball title as both a player and a coach.
Dr. Gordon Gutmann
Dr. Gordon Gutmann's numerous achievements already earned a street named inn his honor, thanks to his contributions to medical excellence. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1961. After serving as a Captain in the United States Army, he joined the staff of Clark Memorial Hospital in 1969, where he remained an active member of the medical staff for nearly 40 years.
Throughout his career -- and after his retirement in 2006 -- Gutmann held leadership roles in many state and regional organizations, both among his peers in medicine and in philanthropic groups.
Other Honorees
Honorees who have already been recognized in past years include Wayne Estopinal, who helped design the award-winning Big 4 Station Park. Other past honorees include Medal of Honor recipients, as well as other local sports stars like Sara Nord, who played basketball at Jeffersonville High School and went on to play for the University of Louisville.
Anyone with suggestions for more honorees should contact the Jeffersonville Parks and Recreation Department.
