LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A restaurant specializing in Nashville-style hot chicken has opened another new location.

Joella's Hot Chicken opened its second Louisville location in Middletown Commons on Wednesday.

The owners say they needed the new place to keep up with catering orders and this specific site will cater Mecca food.

People had been camping outside the new spot overnight for the grand opening.

The first 100 adults in line were given free hot chicken for a year.

"It was tremendous," said operations director Bruce Rosenblatt. "The atmosphere was all over the place. We had happy people, smiling faces. We had kids throwing footballs around and having a good ole' time. It was great. The morale was sky high."

Joella's opened its first restaurant on Frankfort Avenue about eight months ago, and has since opened others in Lexington and Crescent Springs.
