LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- At the Kentucky Derby, the hats are just as big as the bets.
The Derby Museum is holding a fashion contest as part of its celebration of the 150th Kentucky Derby in May.
The goal is to show off looks from over the years. Full ensembles or individual pieces, such as parts of an outfit, headwear or accessories, for all genders can be submitted.
The winning looks will be displayed alongside the museum's permanent collection of fashion items.
"One hundred and fifty years of the Kentucky Derby, and fashion has been there for all of them," said Jessica Whitehead, curator of collections for the museum. "This is a great way to share those stories and to have so many people be able to relate to your experience."
Photos can be submitted on the Derby Museum website through Dec. 15. The museum won't accept physical submissions. Each participant is allowed up to two submissions.
The museum's fashion exhibit opens next summer.
