LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Kentucky Humane Society was awarded a nearly $10,000 grant from the Orphan Kitten Club.
OKC is a leading charitable organization dedicated to advancing kitten welfare. The funds will support KHS's Warm Whiskers Project.
With the grant, KHS purchased three specialized kitten incubators. These provide warmth, oxygen therapy, humidity regulation, and breathing treatments for critically ill newborn kittens.
The grant also funds standardized foster supply kits with essential items.
"Receiving this grant from Orphan Kitten Club is transformative for our neonatal kitten program," said Dr. Emily Bewley, director of veterinary services at the Kentucky Humane Society, in a news release. "Incubators will allow us to provide precise heat, oxygen and respiratory treatments. Combined with kitten foster kits, this investment will give hundreds of fragile kittens a better chance to survive and thrive."
