LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Kentucky State Police trooper rescued four people from a burning vehicle after a rollover crash Friday on Interstate 65 in Hardin County.
According to KSP, the crash happened around 2:10 p.m. on I-65 South near the 87-mile mark.
KSP's preliminary investigation indicates a tractor-trailer was traveling south when it moved from the middle lane into the right lane, forcing a car off the road.
The car rolled several times before coming to a stop on its side with four people trapped inside.
Trooper Blaine Miller, with KSP Post 4, was responding to an unrelated incident nearby and was on the scene almost immediately after the crash. Police said the car was smoking and beginning to catch fire.
That's when Miller broke through the front windshield, climbed inside and helped all four people get out.
All four people had minor injuries and were taken to Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. They were treated and released.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
