JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville's public library now has a multimedia studio for anything from professional shoots to social media videos.

Leaders cut the ribbon on the new Multimedia Studio inside the Jeffersonville Township Public Library's Makerspace Wednesday morning.

The studio can be used for free with a library card and a reservation. It includes lights, cameras, microphones, recording equipment, editing software and instruments.

The space can be used for podcasts, commercials for businesses and more.

"Growing up, I knew I wanted to pursue entertainment. But I didn't have the financial means to, you know, go to a film studio or book a recording studio, and now you can do those things for free here at our library," Vincent Thomas, training specialist for the Multimedia Studio, said. "So I really think we're going to be able to support creatives in getting their projects off the ground."

Anyone interested in using the Makerspace, or the Multimedia Studio, must sign up for a library card and complete required training to use the studio space.

The library is located on East Court Avenue, just outside the downtown area.
