LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville comedian recently turned a prank into an intervention.
Tom Mabe's friend Dennis has a long history of driving under the influence, so when Dennis passed out drunk one night, Mabe took him to an office he had turned into a fake hospital.
When he woke up, Mabe was dressed as a doctor and told Dennis he had been in an accident and had been in a coma for the last 10 years.
Then Mabe slapped some sense into his friend.
"He laughed a lot," Mabe said. "He laughed a whole, whole lot. He just thought, 'Man, you guys got me man, daggone, man you got me.' So I'm not sure that he learned a lesson."
Some people made negative comments on YouTube, saying Mabe turned his addiction into a joke.
The comedian says he's pushing to get Dennis into a program.
