LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials say Metro Government has updated the city's online maps to display more accurately crimes that occur in local parks.
Metro council members questioned Metro Police last week why no information was available from previous park incidents after a mob of teens committed a string of violent attacks near Waterfront Park.
According to a press release from the mayor's office, the city's crime map previously accepted only physical addresses and crimes committed in parks were displayed in a parking lot at 5th and Liberty Streets.
Now, the maps display significant crimes that happen in parks like Waterfront, Shawnee, Cherokee and Jefferson Memorial Forest.
The city's maps show homicides, auto theft, assaults, vandalism and robbery.
