LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Monday was a big day for Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, as he was sworn in for his second term.
In his speech, Mayor Fischer proclaimed the eyes of the nation are on Louisville because of the city's growth.
He spoke to a packed house in the rotunda shortly after he was sworn in. City and state leaders were there, and members of the public lined the upper lever.
The mayor's speech was a call to action. He says he's committed to the three pillars he envisioned when he was sworn in four years ago. Those are a city of health, a city of lifelong learning and a compassionate city.
He says today, Louisville's momentum is strong, with record levels of investment.
Louisville metro council members and other elected officials were also sworn in today. A reception was expected to take place afterward.
