LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Orchestra is nominated for a Grammy Award.

The orchestra is one of the oldest, continuously-performing orchestras in the United States. 

The nomination is for the Best Classical Instrumental Solo for the orchestra's performance in "The American Project."

The orchestra collaborated with world-renowned pianist Yuja Wang and conductor Teddy Abrams.

"We are incredibly honored to be nominated for Best Classical Instrumental Solo at the 2024 Grammy Awards," Abrams said in a news release Thursday. "This nomination is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our talented musicians, as well as the incredible collaboration with Yuja Wang. We are grateful for the recognition and excited to represent the Louisville Orchestra on such a prestigious platform."

The final round of voting for the award recipient ends Jan. 4. The winner will be announced during the 66th Grammy Awards on Feb. 4 in Los Angeles.
