Body pulled from Beargrass Creek near Louisville's Butchertown neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A body was found Friday morning in Beargrass Creek near Louisville's Butchertown neighborhood.

Louisville Fire Capt. Donovan Sims confirmed firefighters helped recover the body in the water off Story Avenue near Letterle Avenue.

A Louisville Metro Police spokesman said LMPD's River Unit was called just before noon to an area near the MSD Beargrass Pumping Station to help with the recovery.

LMPD said the body appears to be an adult but the age, race and gender have not been determined. The Homicide Unit, which conducts all death investigations, will handle the case.
