LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police will provide extra security measures at a rap concert this weekend downtown.
Louisville rapper EST Gee will perform Saturday night at his Summer Jam event at the KFC Yum! Center.
He has more than 1 million followers on social media, and the EST in his name stands for "Everybody Shine Together."
In 2021, the FBI and LMPD made a major drug trafficking bust involving members of a Louisville street gang called "Everybody Shine Together." Ten members of the gang were federally indicted and the FBI accused them of terrorizing Louisville's communities.
"We are aware of this event and the potential public safety risk involved," LMPD said in a statement. "LMPD will be providing extra security measures to assist in maintaining the safest possible environment within our ability. The goal of any police department is to protect the public. We have no tolerance for violence. As such, LMPD will immediately address any criminal activity of which it is made aware, and arrests will be made as needed.”
Ticket prices for Saturday's show range from $144-184.
