LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — There's a new face drawing attention at the Louisville Zoo.

The zoo announced the birth of a male colobus monkey born to parents Ate and Dr. Sheldon Cooper. The newborn joins older brother Kayin George, who was born in August 2025 and has already been spotted curiously watching over his younger sibling inside the exhibit.

Zoo officials said the baby will be raised with the help of the troop's females through a behavior known as alloparenting, where multiple members of the group help care for and protect young animals.

The birth is another important step in conservation efforts for the species and gives visitors a chance to see one of the zoo's newest arrivals up close.

The baby is now on exhibit with the troop, adding to what the Louisville Zoo calls another exciting chapter in this year's busy baby season.
