LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a 38-year-old Louisville man used burglary tools to break into several vending machines at two downtown hotels.

Police were called to the Marriott Hotel at 280 west Jefferson Street just before 3 a.m. Tuesday. That's where they found 38-year-old Eric B. Carpenter, who was allegedly stealing money from vending machines.

Police say they found a pry bar and other tools that Carpenter allegedly used to break into the machines and pull out the cash.

He's accused of stealing from vending machines at the Marriott as well as the Galt House.

Carpenter was arrested and charged with burglary.
