LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died after losing control and crashing his motorcycle in Louisville early Sunday morning.

Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded around 3:20 a.m. on a motorcycle crash on 3rd Street Road near Windsor Park Drive.

Police said a motorcyclist was headed south on 3rd Street Road when he entered the intersection at Windsor Park Drive and for an unknown reason failed to negotiate a right-hand curve in the road.

The man lost control and crashed into a guardrail, which caused him to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Ellis said he was taken to UofL Hospital where he later died.

No other vehicles were involved.
