LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after being hit by a car on Fern Valley Road Monday evening.
Louisville Metro Police were called to the 2900 block of Fern Valley Road around 6 p.m. on a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle, LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis said. That's off Preston Highway, near Louisville's airport.
Ellis said a man, wearing all dark clothing, was trying to cross Fern Valley Road when he was hit by a car traveling eastbound. Police said the driver of that car stayed on scene and called 911 for help.Â
The man was transported to UofL Hospital where he later died, Ellis said.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating. Ellis said the driver of the car is cooperating with police.
This latest incident marks six pedestrians who have been hit on Fern Valley Road this year.Â
