LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed Monday afternoon on Interstate 265 in southern Jefferson County.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley said the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the Gene Snyder Freeway approaching Preston Highway. The man was attempting to move something out the road — possibly a ladder, Bradley said — when he was hit.
Two more cars were involved in the collision, Bradley said. However, it's unclear if the man was hit by more than the initial car.
He was transported to UofL Hospital but died of his injuries.
Bradley said the drivers of each of the three cars involved were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
I-265 South was still closed as of 4:15 p.m. LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
