LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The countdown to Christmas is on, and Santa is getting ready to deliver gifts to kids all around the world.
But Mrs. Claus is already spreading Christmas cheer to an older generation. She was at Traditions at Hunter Station in Sellersburg, Indiana on Wednesday singing a few songs and brightening spirits.
"I think everybody deserves a gift for Christmas," she said.
Santa’s workshop made a little space for Mrs. Claus this year, but instead of getting letters, people from Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and even as far away as California have been sending her ornaments.
"I probably have received somewhere between 4 to 500 ornaments that I'm passing out already," she said.
Unlike Santa who stays busy making appearances for photos and parades at this time of year, she’s not making the trip to spread Christmas cheer in just one night.

"So far, I've visited about four or five places. I've been down to Elizabethtown in Kentucky. I've been to Louisville, and this is my first visit over here in Indiana," she said.
The residents at Traditions at Hunter Station filled the room to listen to Christmas songs and played trivia. Residents like Freda Amy said had plenty of favorite moments from the party.
"I think all of it! Especially the history part of all the different countries," Amy said. She loves Christmas and said getting a visit from Mrs. Claus really put her in the holiday spirit.
Mrs. Claus was all smiles as ornaments were handed out and the residents shared their Christmas thanks. "It's fun to get a surprise. I don't now if they're going to have any visitors during the holiday season," she said.
Amy made the nice list this year, and she didn't even have to put out cookies and milk to get her present. "I got the best one of all, an angel!! And I'm very grateful, thank you," she beamed.
Mrs. Claus started donning her red outfit and getting into the spirit more than ten years ago, when she lived in California. Now, she plans to deliver more ornaments to other senior citizens at more than a dozen assisted living facilities before Christmas including one in New Albany on Thursday.
