LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new legal resource is now available to Jefferson County residents.
Monday morning, local attorneys and judges celebrated "Law Day" in Jefferson Square Park.
A new "Legal Help Center," through the Jefferson County Public Law Library, was also announced.
Attorneys will volunteer their time to help citizens prepare for court. They can help with basic legal questions and preparing needed forms.
"We recognize, as lawyers, that it's really not fair if you don't have representation or don't have the information you need to just show up and say the right things to help yourself," said Todd Lewis, with the Jefferson County Public Law Library.
Volunteers will be available to provide assistance each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the law library, located in the Old Jail Building on West Liberty Street.
