LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Humana patients no longer have in-network access to some Baptist Health doctors.

Friday was the deadline for Humana and Baptist Health to agree on a new contract.

Baptist Health Medical Group doctors and advanced practice clinicians are no longer in network.

For people with Humana Medicare Advantage and employer-sponsored commercial plans, non-network providers tend to cost more for patients.

In a statement to WDRB News, Baptist Health urges patients to visit this website to learn available options.

Full statement from Baptist Health on negotiations with Humana:

“For the past several months, Baptist Health has been working to secure a new contract with Humana that would preserve in-network access to Baptist Health Medical Group providers for our patients.

We have been unable to come to an agreement. As a result, Baptist Health Medical Group is out of network for Humana Medicare Advantage and employer-sponsored commercial plan members as of September 22, 2023.

We encourage patients to visit BaptistHealth.com/MedicareAdvantage to learn more about the options that may be available to them.

As caregivers, nothing is more important than ensuring our patients have access to the care they need, when they need it. We understand this process has been frustrating for our community, but we will continue to advocate for those we serve.”
