Nonprofit Air for Paws donates 18 K-9 resuscitation kits to LMPD

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Air for Paws, a California-based nonprofit that makes gas masks for animals, has made a donation to protect Louisville Metro Police K-9s.

According to a Facebook post by Louisville Metro Police, the company donated $1,800 worth of Animal Resuscitation Kits.

The kits were created to provide first responders with specialized equipment to resuscitate injured animals found at house fires or other dangerous scenes. Each kit includes a duffel bag, a resuscitator (a device used to inflate the lungs of an animal that is not breathing), a K-9 oxygen mask, a flat leash with a clip, a towel and an instruction card.

In total, 18 kits were donated to LMPD.
