LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Check those tickets! The numbers have been drawn for Monday night's $1.2 billion Powerball jackpot.
The numbers are: 9-35-54-63-64-1 with a Power Play of 2X.
The $1.2 billion jackpot is for a sole winner who takes an annuity, paid annually over 30 years. Winners nearly always pick the cash option. For Wednesday night’s drawing, that would be an estimated $551.7 million.
Those winnings would be subject to federal taxes, and many states also tax lottery winnings.
It's those odds of 1 in 292.2 million that make the jackpot so hard to win and that result in such giant prizes for the lucky player or players who manage to pick the game's six winning numbers. The latest Powerball jackpot is the world's seventh-largest lottery prize. The last time someone won the top prize was July 19.
In most states, a Powerball ticket costs $2 and players can select their own numbers or leave that task to a computer.
Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
