LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) --Â The mother of a Kentucky woman gunned down in her ex-mother-in-law's home won't see the next trial for the man accused of being her daughter's killer.
Patricia Wilburn, Tracy Burke's mother, passed away over the weekend, according to Wilburn's daughter, who contacted WDRB News Monday morning.
Wilburn had been battling cancer, but she was there for all four trials in civilian court.
Sergeant Brent Burke is accused of killing his estranged wife Tracy and her former mother-in-law, Karen Comer at a home in Rineyville in September 2007. Each of the four proceedings ended in mistrials.
If convicted in military court, Burke could face life in prison or the death penalty.
