LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A camper fire claimed the life of a person in Hardin County over the weekend. 

According to a post by Upton Fire Department and Chief Tyler Hiser, crews responded before 9 a.m. Saturday to a residential camper fire in the 147000 block of South Dixie Highway. 

When firefighters arrived, they found the camper fully-engulfed in flames. They were told someone might still be inside. Once the fire was under control, crews located a victim. 

The Upton Fire Department did not release any identifying information about the victim. The Hardin County Coroner's Office will have to release the name. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kentucky Fire Marshal's Office. 

The Sonora Fire Department, Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Hardin County EMS assisted the Upton Fire Department at the scene.
