LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a man who was caught driving 48 mph over the speed limit had a unique excuse for his crime: he said he had to go to the bathroom.
According to an arrest report, 19-year-old Christopher P. Fritsch was clocked driving 93 mph in a 45 mph zone on Dixie Hwy. shortly before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say he was driving at "an extremely high rate," that he was "weaving" and was, "very reckless to other motorists."
When an officer stopped Fritsch, he allegedly told the officer that he, "had to urinate, which was why he was going fast."
"However, for the three miles officer was tailing, subject passed five open businesses that would gladly have allowed him to use the restroom," police say.
Fritsch was arrested and charged with speeding and reckless driving.
