“You just have to wear stuff that you feel good in, something loud. Something that is bright and catches people's eyes and something that is uplifting,” said Sara Zampini who was attending the festival for the first time.
But style was not something only the women focused on.
“You can't just be all lame here,” said Nicholas Hyndman. “You got the whole festival. Everyone is showing out, you got to show off your best, too.”

More than 65,000 people are expected to attend this weekend – the first time the festival was held around Memorial Day – which will now be the case from here on out.
“I am from Chicago and we go to Lollapalooza every year so I am hoping it lives up that,” said Mikey Lucas.
While rain put a brief damper on Friday’s festival, it was a much different case Saturday with weather mostly sunny in the low 70s.
Fans enter Forecastle grounds through metal detectors.
This year’s festival grounds are smaller and come with some changes. Only small, clear backpacks or bags are allowed in. There is a large security presence around the grounds and inside.
There was no shortage of selfies, festival merchandise, or even places to kick back and relax, whether it’s for the first time or an annual rite of passage.
“I'm hyped to see Tame Impala. I am hyped to pay $15 for a beer,” said Lucas. “I mean I am going to have a good time, man.”
