LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A stretch of a busy Bullitt County road is scheduled to close for several months beginning next week.Â
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said in a news release that the bridge replacement project on KY 1116/Zoneton Road over Cedar Creek in Bullitt County will start on Dec. 26.Â
The project includes the demolition of the existing bridge, built in 1975, and the construction of the replacement bridge. The work is being completed by M & M Services Company, INC. of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, under a $1,031,047.29 million contract.
Work will begin Tuesday, December 26, at 7 a.m., with construction requiring a full closure of the existing bridge, located at mile point 1.8 on KY 1116/Zoneton Road, between Glenn-Frick Farm Road and Ridgeway Farm Road.
The suggested detour is to follow KY 61 to KY 2053/Mt. Washington Road then proceed via Cedar Creek Road to reconnect to KY 1116/Zoneton Road.
Motorists should obey restrictions, follow the signed detour, and plan ahead when traveling. The project is expected to be completed by the spring of 2024.
