LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky U.S. Sen. Rand Paul visited Louisville on Monday to speak with students at Boyce College.

During his speech, Paul made short remarks about Israel's war with Hamas.

"I'm not here to say Israel shouldn't respond," Paul said. "Israel has every right to defend themselves but there is some question, and it is a moral question, at which point do the ends justify the means? If you're going to kill a leader of Hamas but he lives in a building purposefully with 100 civilians to protect himself with a human shield of innocents, when is it okay?"

Paul said there was absolutely no justification for what Hamas has done, but discussed what's happening in the Middle East as part of a larger discussion about morality.

Paul spoke to a large group of students at the college, which shares a campus with the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He talked about a variety of topics from liberty to the budget deficit to COVID-19.
