LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — One of Shelby County's fastest-growing business developments is expanding.

Simpsonville Commons is adding new jobs, new businesses and more retail as construction continues at the 81-acre development across from the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, KCC Companies has broken ground on a new 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that will expand its operations.

The Louisville-based company manufactures air conditioning equipment and provides commercial and residential HVAC services. The new building will join two existing KCC facilities already operating at Simpsonville Commons.

The latest expansion is expected to be completed in 2027.

A Wawa is also under construction at Simpsonville Commons along Buck Creek Road. Two additional retail buildings are planned, including one with space for a restaurant.

Developers are also planning a second phase of Simpsonville Commons that will add hundreds of thousands of square feet of commercial space.
