LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Floyd County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding a missing 81-year-old man with dementia.
According to the FCSO, Larry Gehlbach was last seen walking away from his home in the 6600 block of State Road 62 in Lanesville, Indiana at 4 p.m. Friday in an unknown direction.
He might be wearing a burgundy pullover and corduroy pants. Gehlbach is described as 6-foot-1-inches, 190 pounds with green eyes.
Police said they've searched with drones, on foot, with K-9's and vehicles but have been unsuccessful. Surrounding hospitals have already been checked and local agencies were notified.Â
On Sunday, the FCSO said 300 volunteers are assisting in a grid search for Gehlbach.
According to the FCSO, Indiana State Police couldn't dispatch a Silver Alert nationwide because certain criteria had not been met.
The search for Gehlbach is still ongoing.
