LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A very special bridge was dedicated to a man who paid the ultimate price while serving his country.
On Saturday, friends and family of Corporal Jordan Spears lined the Highway 31 bridge south of Biggs Road in Memphis, Indiana as the bridge was dedicated in his name.
Spears was killed Oct. 1, 2014 during an attack against ISIS. Many of those who lined the road for his procession when he died were there as the bridge was dedicated.
"I just want to say thank you to all of them," Nina Smith, Jordan's cousin, said. "Like I said for all of them to still be here and still want to do this means the world to the family. We will never ever forget this."
Bagpipes played as Spears' family arrived in a parade leading to the unveiling.
