LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- First responders in southern Indiana are training to advance their skill levels this week.
The Clark County Health Department is partnering with Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation for a mobile simulation lab June 2-4. The simulation lab allows first responders and local emergency department staff the chance to practice high acuity patient interactions and receive real-time feedback.
Dr. Eric Yazel, Clark County Health Officer, said first responders train on real-world situations in the simulation, including some of the rare incidents.
"This is a great way to train them up and impact our county as a whole," Yazel said. "After this sim lab is gone, this will perpetuate for weeks and months because it will help them get to our citizens in a timely manner for life-saving care."
The Health First Indiana initiative provided the funding for the event.
