LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 35-year-old southern Indiana man died after being hit by an SUV on Interstate 65 Sunday night.
According to Indiana State Police, just after 11:25 p.m. a semi driver called authorities stating he thought he hit a pedestrian walking along the fog line just north of Austin, Indiana.
Authorities couldn't find a victim in the area. A short time later, an SUV had hit a pedestrian who was walking northbound in the driving lane just half a mile down the road.
The driver remained on scene and called 911.
Police said Bryce Sheaffer of Seymour, Indiana, was pronounced deceased after being taken to Scott Memorial Hospital.
According to police, the semi grazed the victim but he continued walking until he was hit by the SUV.
Police don’t believe either driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
