53-year-old man dies after shooting in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood, police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 53-year-old man died after a shooting in Louisville's Park Hill neighborhood on Saturday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police responded to the 1300 block of Dixie Highway, near W. Ormsby Avenue, on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of a business.

Ellis said the man was taken to UofL Hospital with life-threatening injuries. In an update early Sunday, police said the victim died from his injuries in the hospital.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Anthony Beals.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
