LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Strong winds knocked down trees and power lines Sunday, leaving many in the Louisville area and southern Indiana without power. 

As of 6 a.m. Monday, more than 1,200 people around Jefferson County were without power, according to the LG&E outage map. At one point, more than 9,000 were without power.

Across the river in southern Indiana, only about 15 customers were without power at 6 a.m., according to the Duke Energy outage map.

Much of the area is under a High Wind Warning until 8 p.m. Sunday with winds ranging between 30-40 mph and gusts of 60 mph.

A Wind Advisory will be in effect from 8 p.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday with winds ranging from 25-35 mph and gusts up to 55 mph.
