LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was arrested in connection to a fatal 2024 shooting in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood.
Louisville Metro Police said 33-year-old Jarvis Garrett was arrested Friday in connection to the homicide, which happened May 16, 2024, in the 5000 block of East Indian Trail.
Garrett was charged with murder and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Police said Garrett was already being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on unrelated charges when LMPD homicide detectives served him with the new charges. He remains in custody.
Investigators have not released the victim's identity or said what led to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
Garrett is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Jefferson County on July 24. His bond was set Saturday at $100,000 cash.
