LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dixie Hwy. has reopened between Stonestreet Road and Elzie Road.
The road was closed Tuesday afternoon while the LMPD Bomb Squad was investigating a suspicious package at the BB&T bank near a Target store in the 9000 block of Dixie Hwy.Â
The investigation began just before noon when a suspicious package was reported to be leaning against the wall of the BB&T bank building.Â
According to LMPD public information office Alicia Smiley, the device was disabled by a bomb squad robot and the all clear was given about 2:30 Tuesday afternoon.Â
Police say they still do not know what the device is and "if it was some type of explosive."
